To establish the peculiarities of oxidative stress (OS) and endotoxicosis development in patients with vascular pathology of the brain that have been affected by the Chornobyl accident factors results of 15-years’ (1992–2006) monitoring of 108 individuals with vascular pathology of the CNS (discirculatory encephalopathy and chronic insufficiency of cerebral blood flow) were analyzed and 23 clean-up workers with vascular disease of the brain were examined during 2010–2011. Identified features of OS and endotoxicosis development in clean-up workers with vascular pathology of the brain put forvard the need for consideration of the systems that ensure the maintenance of prooxidant-antioxidant balance, in developing measures to prevent the appearance and progression of CNS disease in this category of patients.

Key words: metabolic disorders, vascular pathology of the brain, the Chornobyl accident.
