Cases of leukaemias and lymphomas among 1007 children of the Kyivv, Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions for three periods of supervision were estimated: 1980–1986, 1987–1996 and 1997–2007. The features in the life history and diseases of relatives and their children with leukemias and lymphomas were revealed. Age and gender characteristics of patients, initial clinical and hematological characteristics with the timetable for monitoring and absorbed doses were characterized. Criteria for the formation of groups at risk of hematologic diseases in children who have experienced the effects of ionizing radiation in the Chornobyl accident were developed.
